PROGRAM AND SERVICES OFFERED AT THE PLAY PROJECT MAHAVIDY SDN BHD

The Play Project Mahavidya is a fully equipped therapy cum rehab centre for children and adults in Seremban.

Well established (2014) within a spacious and lush green part of the city,  therapists and teachers create the best possible way to have the children learn, achieve and master skills and independence.

TPPM holistic assessment comes in 3 appointments of an hour with assessments done by a  child psychologist, an occupational- or physiotherapist an aqua therapist.

The various graduate therapists will generally do an informal interview with you to fully understand your child and assess your child with a variety of screenings, activities, toys, and playful tests. One parent can accompany the child during all these appointments and there is plenty of time to ask questions.

Within a week you will receive comprehensive summary reports with therapy suggestions for your child. Once you have decided to continue with us we will set out goals together and plan your child’s weekly sessions. After a few therapy sessions, we will also suggest activities for you to do at home with your child to get the most out of the therapy (Home Program).

What is play therapy? Though we are not a play therapy centre we work along with the same principle.

The Association for Play Therapy website says play therapy is designed to:“…help children express what is troubling them when they do not have the verbal language to express their thoughts and feelings (Gil, 1991). In-play therapy, toys are like the child’s words and play is the child’s language (Landreth, 2002). Through play, therapists may help children learn more adaptive behaviors when there are emotional or social skills deficits (Pedro-Carroll & Reddy, 2005).”
